I am a passionate secondary school teacher with over 18 years of experience working in state, independent, UK and international schools. Over that time, my classes have been awarded ´Best Results at A-level Achieved by Boys/Girls at an Independent School´ by the Good Schools Guide on 3 separate occasions.

For the past 9 years, I have been working at Canterbury School in Gran Canaria as a Business Studies and Humanities teacher.  I have overseen the take-up of Business Studies trebling in size and becoming one of the most successful and popular subjects at the school. The fact that nearly 60% of our school leavers last year went on to study business-related courses at undergraduate level shows, I believe, that my classes are not solely exam-focused, however. It also demonstrates that my passion and enthusiasm for the subject passes on to the students.

I feel I have established a reputation amongst my students as an approachable and sympathetic tutor with an ability to make the complex accessible and to encourage and motivate.

What I offer to my students is:
• a detailed knowledge of the subject I am teaching
• a thorough understanding of the syllabus and what the examiner is looking for
• sound practical advice on learning and revision techniques and preparation for the examination
• practice in past papers.

Over my career, there have been numerous syllabus updates and exam changes, and I have taught or tutored all of the major exam boards. It is an important part of my job to stay informed about changes to the syllabus and pedagogic theory and write schemes of work that incorporate them.

I was looking for a tutor for my 2 boys who where struggling to get themselves prepared for their exams. Jack has been one of the most helpful and patient tutor my children ever had. He has helped them a lot with their preparation for the IGCSE Business studies exams. My children said that he is amazing at explaining concepts in a simple, understandable way while teaching how to answer exam questions properly and improve their scores. I believe he has prepared them well and taught them the right syllabus. From my experience he has been a fantastic tutor and I highly recommend him to anyone struggling with their assignments and exam preparation or just need a little push to get these top marks they need.

Jack is a great teacher. He has great study material, is patient and detailed in his classes. Jack makes the student reflect on the exam questions, what are the best ways to answer them, the differences between them. We are very satisfied with the classes and the performance that my son is having . He’ s enjoying a lot. Thank you!

As a parent I am extremely grateful for the support and guidance Jack has given my daughter in the run up to her exams. He is an excellent tutor who has been helping my daughter grasp key A Level concepts with exam application. He is extremely engaging and my daughters ability and confidence has improved enormously. He is always on time and goes the extra mile to ensure she understands everything taught. I would highly recommend Jack.
