About Me

Hi, I’m Valentina!
I’m a Venezuelan-Spanish student at Canterbury School in Gran Canaria.
Despite being born in Venezuela, I have spent the majority of my life in multiple places around the world, having lived in Singapore and Abu Dhabi as well as in Spain. Consequently, I have had the privilege of learning from a plethora of other cultures which has caused me to develop quite an internationally-oriented mindset– one which I hope to use to help any other international student in need!
I enjoy humanitarian subjects above all and have a great passion for writing! One which I aim to nurture in the future as I aspire to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication in the Netherlands.

Soy una estudiante Venezolana-Española de Y13 en el colegio Canterbury School de Gran Canarias.
A pesar de haber nacido en Venezuela, he tenido la oportunidad de vivir varios años en países de Asia como Singapur y los Emiratos Árabes Unidos (Abu Dhabi), lo que me ha aportado una gran experiencia multicultural y a desarrollar habilidades en entornos internacionales que espero puedan servir para ayudar a cualquier estudiante con similares condiciones e inquietudes.
Las materias que más me gustan son aquellas con temas humanitarios ya que me encanta desarrollar ideas y, sobre todo, escribir. Procuro seguir estos intereses en el futuro y estudiar una Licenciatura en Medios y Comunicaciones en los Países Bajos.

How I Can Help

Having been raised in international education systems my entire life I know how hard it may be to fully understand the complexities of the IGCSE and A-Level curriculum. This is why I aim to help both students and parents to gain a more thorough understanding of these systems in order to make the best decisions for their future.
Moreover, I’m keen to help students in any areas of uncertainty within their subjects, providing my own notes specific to the CIE syllabuses as well as support and a deep understanding of what it means to be an international student with limited resources. I particularly enjoy helping others with exam technique, navigating what exactly the question is asking and how to structure your response.

Al haberme educado en sistemas exclusivamente internacionales, entiendo plenamente lo difícil que puede ser asimilar el currículum de IGCSE y A-Level. Por lo tanto, uno de mis objetivos es ayudar tanto a los estudiantes como a sus propios padres a adquirir una comprensión más completa de estos sistemas, de manera que puedan tomar las decisiones más adecuadas para el futuro del alumno.
Asimismo, estoy más que dispuesta a aclarar cualquier duda que el estudiante tenga sobre el temario, compartiendo mis propios apuntes específicos al temario CIE además de apoyo y comprensión en cuanto a lo que significa ser un alumno internacional con recursos limitados. En particular, me gusta ayudar a los demás con la técnica del examen, ayudándolos a descifrar qué exactamente quiere decir cada pregunta y cómo estructurar su respuesta.
