Information

I am currently working as Art and Design teacher at Canterbury School. My enjoyment of teaching and helping students of all ages to thrive and find their passions within education is something I am hoping to continue into the future. Both online and in the classroom.

Experience

During my 16 years at Canterbury I have –
– Established a well respected art department, which ensures that the students receive personal guidance and the support appropriate to their needs.
– Helped place many students in UK based art colleges for degree courses and foundation diploma courses.
– A proven record of good teaching by achieving good results at IGCSE and A level.
– Organised visits to local art galleries and museums and organised successful student art exhibitions in the school theatre.
– Organised local artists (Armando Lorenzo, Octavio del Toro) to come into the school to take workshops with the students.
– Gained a Diploma in Spanish from The Open University, showing evidence of the personal value I attach to life-long learning and proof of an ability to balance complex and academically rigorous study whilst continuing to successfully fulfil a commitment to full time employment.

Exam Specification Currently Teaching

At Canterbury school I have taught IGCSE, AS and A level art and design to students in years 7 – 13 and History and English to year 7. I had sole responsibility for the organisation of the CIE exams and once a year the art students offer to the public a show where work is displayed so that the parents can view the work the students in the school produce.
