About Me

I am half Spanish half English and was born in Madrid, but I moved to The Hague (in The Netherlands) at age 4. Even though my entire education was undertaken in English at The British School in The Netherlands, I attended many local co-curricular sports and activities and hence learnt to speak Dutch.

Regarding academics, I have always had a natural aptitude for languages, and my favourite subjects are maths and physics. During sixth form, I took on the role of being my school’s ‘Maths Ambassador’, which entailed helping younger students with maths and encouraging students to enjoy it. In terms of Physics, I took part in the CERN Beamline4Schools competition in Year 12. Together with some fellow classmates, I designed a potential experiment that could be carried out in the DESY particle accelerator. Our project submission was shortlisted (top 26) out of nearly 300 teams.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, travelling, seeing friends, and I was very active in MUN during sixth form.

How I Can Help

I like to break complicated problems down into smaller manageable blocks, and then slowly show how all of these blocks build on each other to solve the question. Having tutored younger students at my school in maths, and having helped a friend consistently during Year 13 with IB SL maths, I have found this to be the most successful way of tackling complex subjects.

I also have valuable experience with both the British Curriculum and the IB, as my school offered both A-Levels and IB, and I myself completed GCSEs and then did IB. Hence, I am happy to give general help and advice with anything related to either of these systems (what IB/GCSE subjects to take, advantages of one system over the other, etc).

My personal statement got me offers from Imperial College London, UCL, the University of Edinburgh, and King’s College London, and hence I am also offering to help students who are applying for STEM subjects at UK universities with their personal statement.

As I am a very patient person and good at communicating my ideas and understanding, I am certain that I will be an excellent tutor and will help you succeed.
